Government platforms in Egypt & Saudi Arabia
Front-end development for national institutions — the Presidency of Egypt, the Egyptian Drug Authority and the Egyptian Competition Authority — and Saudi platforms for agricultural training and e-commerce.
Context
Government websites are read by the whole public: Arabic is the primary language, English is expected to be equivalent, and the content — regulations, announcements, services — changes constantly.
My role
At Turn Digital I worked on the Egyptian Drug Authority, the Presidency of Egypt and the Egyptian Competition Authority. At Houya Arrow I worked on two Saudi government platforms: Palm and Dates Academy — agricultural training, trainee certification and community discussion — and Mouzare, a multi-vendor store with recipes, order ratings, order tracking and a blog.
Constraints
Right-to-left layouts that still render Latin names, numbers and codes correctly, on desktop and mobile alike.
Outcome
All five platforms are live and publicly accessible. This work is where the bilingual, RTL-first habits that run through the rest of my work — including this site — come from.
